Part of the World Health Organization, the Department of Food Safety and Zoonoses is meant to reduce the impact of food borne illness and disease throughout the world. Due to the more recent trend of globalization in food production, there has been an increased demand for food safety research. This research helps to ensure a safer global food supply.
